Save the Date! SAR 2026 Championship

The second annual Student Air Rifle (SAR) Championship will be held at Long Acres Ranch on October 27, 2026.

Home school programs and camping are just some of the many educational opportunities available on Long Acres Ranch in Richmond, Texas. The 786 acre property has graciously offered use of the facilities to host the SAR Championship for the second year in a row for the SAR Program, TSRA, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and TSRA Heritage 1919.

There will be two classifications of student competitors - Student and Club. The goal of the two categories is to capture more participation. Awards will be given out, and the two classifications will be broken down further to allow for awards (i.e. male/female, and age groups). This year’s championship will be open to both schools and clubs for participation.

TSRA and TSRA Heritage 1919, the new 501(c)3, will partner with Texas Parks and Wildlife again this year for this event. Last year, Steve Hall (former TPWD) brought together a committee of individuals from 4H, TPWD, SAR Basic Air Rifle Instructors, and TSRA to plan the annual event. The committee is already hard at work this year to plan the 2026 event.
