TSRA Hill Country Chapter Activities

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the TSRA Hill Country Chapter attended the One Day Gun Show at Simon Bros. Mercantile & Cafe (3861 W. State Loop 291, Roosevelt, TX 76874), hosted by J&S Production. The hours were 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with general admission at $5 for adults and free for children under 12. In addition to the gun show, the day included a farmers market and the annual Hunter Appreciation Lunch for this part of Kimble County.

The team—Chapter members Ted and Georgia Morgan, and I—enjoyed spending the day with like-minded patriots, and we even signed up seven new members to TSRA and our Chapter. More importantly, we were able to share the TSRA story and mission with dozens more and talk about our local efforts to support youth shooting sports activities.

We really enjoyed the setup of this show. Unlike larger multi-day events where wide arrays of items compete for attention, this one-day format remained highly focused on firearms, ammunition, and related discussions. The setting felt community-oriented, especially since many locals attending the farmers market stopped by to see if they could find a good deal on a firearm.

I encourage all TSRA members to look for similar opportunities to actively support growth and outreach. It doesn't even have to be at a gun show—reach out to your local civic clubs or veterans' groups and ask for an opportunity to speak with them. You'll be surprised at how many want to hear from you. Form a local TSRA Chapter in your area. Fellowship among like-minded individuals and outreach to new supporters are what drive our collective impact.

Get engaged!
