CMP High Power Rifle XTC Training

High Power Training Match held at CTSA Range, which is located at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range Complex. Gate should be opened by 7:30 for sign-up. Setup starts by 8:15 am and Match starts at 9:00am. We will be utilizing the 500 yard range with pits. Rifles used are typically AR15 style, Match Rifles, M1A, M1 Garand, or 1903A3 or similar bolt action or foreign rifle. Match fee is $20 for adults, $10 for active duty military, and $10 for juniors. Match is open to organization members and non-members. Course of fire will be the NRA 80 round “Regional Match” course. This will not be an NRA “Approved” training match. This will consist of 2 sighting shots at each stage, along with a magazine change during rapid fire. Starts at 200 yards with 20 shots slow fire from “standing”, 20 shots rapid fire from “sitting”, 20 shots rapid fire from “prone” at 300 yards, and 20 shots slow fire from “prone” at 500 yards. Equipment required is hearing protection, eye protection, and open bolt indicator (loaners available). Spotting scopes or binoculars needed for scoring. Shooters will score and pull targets. Shooter choosing not to pull targets must provide a substitute puller. I will update the calendar the night before the training match, if it’s going to be cancelled.
